Obsidian, colour black-gold and shape drop

Quick overview:
Obsidian, colour black-gold and shape drop. A natural volcanic glass, Obsidian forms when lava solidifies so quickly that mineral crystals do not have time to grow. Obsidian is typically jet-black, although the presence of hematite (iron oxide) produces red and brown varieties. The 'snowflakes' in Snowflake Obsidian are spheruilites, spherical aggregates of needle-like crystals. Iceland, Eolie Islands of Italy, some island of the Agean sea in Greece and USA are well-known occurrences of Obsidian.
